Carlos Meira is an artist who is focusing on illustrations and paper sculptures, he has also worked as a designer and art director. From his works you can probably recognize his Rio de Janeiro background as most of the pictures have exotic themes and festival or carnival themes.
Carlos Meira graduated from the School of Fine Arts at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. His unique style developed in the early 1990´s when he moved to Portugal.
The artist puts a lot of attention to details and you can really recognize the Brazilian culture in his pictures. The other amazing fact is how he handles paper, on his pictures (or sculptures if you wish) it almost seems as if he has changed the texture of the paper. It takes a lot of patience and gentle gestures to achieve such beautiful results as he does.
